AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer Technical Lead specializing in Hyper-scale Data Centers. The position is remote and can be based out of any AECOM U.S. office. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems in large-scale data centers, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety of data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities include: designing and implementing electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers including medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup and emergency systems; developing and maintaining electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings; ensuring compliance with NEC and IEC standards; collaborating with engineers and stakeholders on specifications and project budgets; analyzing electrical systems for load balancing and power optimization; monitoring and maintaining electrical systems with preventative maintenance; developing electrical safety procedures and training; staying current with advancements in data center technologies; acting as mentor and leader for mid-level engineers; approving work as Engineer of Record; and providing budget and schedule estimates.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience in electrical design/engineering with focus on data center infrastructure, or equivalent; Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or designation required.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of experience; extensive data center electrical engineering experience; strong NEC knowledge; strong leadership and communication skills; BIM software experience; data center design and construction experience.
